Yesterday Miss Ellie Jo had her 6-8 week check up. I can't believe how fast our baby girl is growing! The poor thing had no idea what was in store for her.....
She is growing like a weed! Ellie Jo's stats at 6.5 weeks old:
Weight: 10 lbs 15 oz (80%)
Height: 22 1/2 in (80%)
Head: 38 1/2 cm (60%)
She also got 6 different immunizations: DTap, Polio, Hep B, Hemophilus, Pneumococcus, and Rotavirus. 1 was done orally, the others with 3 different shots.
She did really well with the oral vaccine.......but......
...for some reason I think she knew what was coming next. After the nurse finished giving her the oral vaccine she looked over and up at me and had this face! =( How sad is that! I hate when babies have to get shots but this made it feel more like a torture moment.
Sophie Anne pulled a chair over and climbed up to see what was going on, I am not sure if she was there for support to El or if she was there to watch the torture finally fall upon someone other than her! =)
El's first shot......she puckered up and cried of course. It was so heartbreaking!
Look at that face! I hate that they have to go through this, but it is definitely worth it! ( You are all wondering how I hate it so much if I am sitting there snapping pictures! haha)
El's war wounds! She was a trooper in the end. Just like her big sister she only cried for about 30 seconds then was okay....well except for a pissed off face! =)
After the appointment El fell fast asleep, she actually slept most of the rest of the day! I kept some baby tylenol in her system to help with pain and fever...I'm so glad that is over and today she is her normal self! As for bugs and I, we went shopping after the Dr. appointment. Sophie got a lunchable for her mid day meal, this kid LOVE luncheables!
And just to finish clearing off my camera, today we played outside. If I was smart I would have packed my camera around all morning. We went to help Alex get the irrigation pumps going (yeah we are a little behind on getting them up and running). Our oldest munchkin LOVES being out and working with her Daddy!
She found every little puddle of water then proceeded to roll around in the dirt! I swear this kid enjoys being covered in dirt way too much! I get a little upset and Alex has to keep reminding me that she is 2 and it's great that she loves to get dirty! I admit I think I was the same way when I was a little kid, but now I HATE dirt, so having a filthy Bugaboos is not always SO fun to me!
To help her get cleaned up I stripped her down and pulled out a swim suit! She got this fun wacky sprinkler system from her Great Uncle Roger for her Birthday so we decided to test it out! Needless to say by the time we got rolling the wind had picked up and Bugs wasn't to active in the water!
But, doesn't she look adorable in her little swim suit! Love that kid! Even though I DO NOT want to wish my time away, especially with how little my girls are, I can't wait until Bugs and El can run around and play together! =)
